Project Inner Alliance
with
Archetype of Design (AOD) is a non-profit organization that supports a global network of purpose-driven security practitioners, educators, and researchers. Their mission: empower leaders to rethink and evolve national security organizations across NATO members and partners for a more sustainable future.
AOD drives this evolution through consulting, facilitation, and a suite of original—and fascinating—tabletop games. Wero has proudly contributed design expertise to several of these games.
Most recently, we are collaborating on Project Inner Alliance, a turn-based tactics game designed for both tabletop and digital formats. The challenge: develop compelling mechanics that translate seamlessly between physical and digital play, while supporting the game's serious strategic intent.
The tabletop version of Inner Alliance can be played today.
The video game is in early development.

Inner Alliance
A turn-based tactics game developed for both tabletop and digital formats, Wero is now adapting it to video game for PC.
It is set in a fictional but realistic future world where first response organizations have collapsed under the pressure of ongoing climate crises, leading to the formation of a new multilateral paramilitary entity: the Climate Security Task Force (CSTF).
The players’ objectives are to rescue imperilled civilians, provide critical aid, and support affected communities in recovery efforts.
Inner Alliance is designed to reinforce the relationship between gender-responsive leadership, inclusivity and team cohesion in defense and national security teams. It encourages players to develop empathy by turning the intangibles of gender perspectives, diversity and intersectionality into tangible experiences during high-stakes operations. Players must come to terms with how these themes shape their interactions within their team, while also considering how they influence their interactions with the broader community.
