CBC testing broadcasting to cellphones

Icon Written by Adam on October 12, 2007 – 10:42 am

Apparently the CBC believes that the future of entertainment is in cellphones. I have to admit that I highly doubt that in Canada mobile entertainment is a worthwhile investment.
CBC recently wrapped up a successful mobile broadcast multimedia field trial using “T-DMB” technology in the Greater Montreal area. The trial broadcasted two live TV services and [...]

Their online offerings remain sporadic; their Internet strategies feel like “we have to” rather than “we want to”; and — worst of all [...]

HBO and Showtime Begin to Get it

Icon Written by Adam on September 5, 2007 – 12:53 pm

HBO and Showtime are both catching on to this whole “internet” fad far better than a lot of other broadcasters. One is buying up content made online while the other is generating content online.
HBO has purchased a machinima video made entirely in Second Life. The video was originally conceived to be sold to broadcasters, [...]

Writing in Canada

Icon Written by Adam on September 4, 2007 – 12:31 pm

Today I have started to write a very short screenplay and got to wondering about how to actually write one. I’ve discovered a few writing applications (which will be reviewed on here later) and I’ve found websites that I think will be useful to anyone wanting to enter any sort of entertainment writing in Canada.
